Faculty Research Grants
Research Projects:
Full-time
faculty members who meet eligibility requirements
may
request funds to initiate a research project
with the objective of securing external
funds to continue the research. Latitude within
these requirements can be
achieved through consultation with SHRP’s
Associate Dean for Research.
Amount of Awards: The Foundation
will normally consider grant applications up
to $20,000. The Foundation
will provide 50% of the total grants and the
investigator will be required to procure the
other 50% from their school or other
sources.
Eligibility:
Full-time faculty appointment - Part-time and
adjunct faculty are not eligible.
Preference will be given to faculty who are
within four years from date of initial
faculty appointment at UMDNJ or from date of
completion of terminal
degree. Preference will be given to faculty
whose current total annual
extramural research support as Principal Investigator
from any source is no
greater than $100,000 in direct costs.
Note: Salary may not be requested
for the principal investigator or author or
other fulltime UMDNJ faculty members or staff.
Exceptions require approval of the Associate
Dean for Research.
Timeline:
Announcement - November 1, 2007
Preliminary Proposal Due - January 15, 2008
Preliminary Proposal Returned - February 8,
2008
Final Submission Due - April 2, 2008
Decision on Funding - June 2, 2008
